An overview of the HealthTech Home project, led by The Brenda Strafford Foundation (BSF) and Health Cities, to integrate and test consumer technology in a residential setting to help reduce pressure on health systems. As more Canadians age, supporting seniors to live at home safely and independently is a growing priority. However, choosing suitable technology can be challenging due to cost and compatibility issues. The project uses a BSF-owned condo as a test space, installing and evaluating health technologies over a year to help older adults maintain their health and stay at home. This presentation reviews the tenants’ experience, highlights key success factors, and shares strategies to bridge the technology gap for seniors.
